Pairing: Gabriel/Carl
Very short G rated piece.
For
cousinshelley’s birthday.
Love you, darlin’. *smooch*
Gabriel stood in the doorway, watching quietly as Carl worked. He’d just returned from a mission a few days earlier than planned and instead of a nervous Carl meeting him in the stables, Gabriel had a chance to surprise the friar.
He bit back a smile when the rest of the lab workers saw him. It was strange to watch how word seemed to spread amongst the other priests, monks, and friars in the lab and they suddenly began to file out of the room through another doorway.
Completely oblivious to the exodus taking place around him, Carl had no idea that he was the only person left in the room aside from the hunter behind him.
Gabriel had an amused grin on his face as the last friar left the room and had turned the lock on the door. Following the other man’s lead, Gabriel slowly, quietly closed the door he was standing in and locked it. Within moments, he was a few steps behind Carl, but he knew better than to frighten him. There was no telling what he was working on, and it could be dangerous causing the younger man to jump unexpectedly.
“You certainly seem wrapped up in your work today,” Gabriel said softly.
Carl jerked only a little from the interruption and nodded. “I am. I want to finish this. I have been working on it since….” His voice trailed off as he turned and looked at Gabriel, gaping at the other man. Suddenly the device that was in his hands was placed on the worktable with an audible click. Then before Gabriel could say another word, the younger man launched himself into his arms.
“When did you get home?” Carl asked grasping Van Helsing’s face in each hand, gazing at him intently.
“Just now,” the man whispered as his lips descended on Carl’s. It was true, only in Carl’s arms was he truly home.
((Happy Birthday hugs, dear.))
The End.
